I had to alter one of the dessert categories here on All Gluten-Free Desserts to include spreads, just so I could include this recipe for Homemade Maple Cream from Jenn at Jenn Cuisine. You can let me know if you think I made a mistake … but I don’t think you will. This single ingredient Homemade Maple Cream was intended to be maple sugar candy, but when it did not quite reach the candy stage, Jenn decided to use it as a spread. As Jenn says, the resulting spread “still has that characteristic melt in your mouth quality that I love about maple sugar candy, even if it is just a spread.”
I tried Maple Cream for the very first time last Christmas, after I picked up some at a craft show that featured vendors from all over the U.S. The maple cream was an incredible delight. I absolutely loved it spread on my gluten-free, dairy-free Cinnamon-Swirl Coffee Cake.
