Toffee from The Whole Gang

Last holiday season, I hosted Home for the Holidays, an event featuring a host of wonderful and talented gluten-free bloggers who shared one amazing recipe after another. Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Toffee was Diane’s (The Whole Gang) contribution. Diane says: “Oh you’re going to like this one for sure but be warned you’ll be seeking the Toffee Anonymous support group. Once you start eating this it’s hard to stop.” Truer words were never spoken. In fact, don’t quiz Diane or she’ll tell you just how much I ate of this toffee when she brought it to a girlfriends’ gathering last year!

Diane says that this candy is super easy to make. The base is Nature’s Nectar Cracklebred Crackers. A combination of brown sugar, non-dairy butter, and chocolate chips (plus basics like vanilla extract) is used to top these crackers to create a very impressive and irresistible toffee. This recipe is also a really great gift idea! For the holidays you can give this toffee in tins or Chinese take-out boxes simply adorned with a ribbon.

  1. Do you have any experience with these crackers? I am interested in the texture specifically, need to find a replacement without the soy. This looks so yum! Thanks!

    • Hi Jen–Welcome to All Gluten-Free Desserts! I’ve only eaten these crackers in this toffee recipe. I’d suggest reading reviews on Amazon or just googling them with “reviews” to see what others say. The toffee is fabulous! :-)
